Fan Expo 2018: Manifest

On August 28, ahead of the series premiere, NBC shared the first act of their new drama Manifest. Starring Josh Dallas and Melissa Roxburgh, the show focuses on storytelling as passengers from a missing flight mysteriously reappear after five years. Those at Fan Expo had the opportunity to watch the entire pilot episode.

Manifest is a show about people trying to figure out their lives and the decisions you make to find yourselves. Time has passed for everyone except those individuals on the plane and there appears to be something supernatural surrounding their return. Executive producer Jeff Rake related the show to Malaysian Airlines flight 370 that disappeared in 2014 and questioned how the world would be affected if that plane suddenly came back. This show was thought of long before that tragedy, but it made him realize impossible things could become possible.

Viewers will need to tune in on September 24 to watch the mystery unfold. Although, they may need to hang onto the edge of their seats for longer than hoped, the series was pitched as a six-season arc.

The show has an initial order of 13 episodes.

During the Q&A after the screening a fan asked about Dallas’ role on Once Upon A Time as Prince Charming differed from his new character on Manifest. “ONCE and that character was a huge part of my life, a really special time in my life,” said Dallas. “It’s one that I will carry with me forever, but going on to something new, like this, a story that is so important to me – I’m just having a blast.”

“Prince Charming was Prince Charming. Ben is a flawed human like all of us and trying to figure out his way in the world. I love him and I can’t wait for you to see more of him.”

Dallas is convinced that “Oncers will become Manifesters.”
