Fan Expo 2018: Cosplay Highlights

Every year, Fan Expo opens its doors to hundreds of thousands of people, many who have been anxiously waiting to cosplay and show off their intricate costumes. The convention floor was filled with unwavering passion, as fans transformed into their favourite characters. This non-judgemental space allowed creativity to shine.

The Disney characters were out in full storm. We saw various Ariel’s from The Little Mermaid become part of this world, and Kim Possible and Shego battled it out in advance of the live action film set to release in 2019.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of woman dressed as Daenerys Targaryen from the HBO series Game of Thrones, even with no new episodes airing this year. We also came across Shuri and Okoye from Black Panther who showed the universe how fierce and skilled they are at battle.

But, some of our favourite costumes included gender swapped versions of beloved characters. There was a female Bowser from Nintendo’s Mario franchise, with a chain chomp as her weapon, and a male who transformed into fictional superheroine Sailor Moon.

Let’s not forget those who dressed as Doomfist, Gambit, the Joker, and Pennywise. Take a look at some of the best costumes on display at Fan Expo this year:
