Synopsis:
Friendships can often be tricky things to maintain and manage, and for Sam Shepard and Johnny Dark, this is an understatement. Having met in the 1960s in Greenwich Village, Shepard and Dark immediately became best friends. Shepard, known for being reclusive, is an award-winning playwright and Academy Award nominated actor (The Right Stuff and The Notebook). Dark, who took on odd jobs from dog-walker to deli-worker, has lived a very different life. Despite their differences they still remain close today, and have exchanged thousands of letters over the years. Shepard & Dark is a raw and emotional film that provides a fascinating study of two complex characters and the ties that bind them
