Cineplex is changing the way you go to the movies and we got a sneak peek last night at the unveiling of the new stand alone VIP cinema at the Shops at Don Mills.

If the the first movie theatre in Canada exclusively built for adults in the heart of the fashionable district isn’t enough of a draw, the complex also boasts 5 VIP screens and two that feature reclining seats to maximize your movie watching experience.

The spacious lounge, perfect for large groups but private enough for a more intimate gathering (maybe even date night) would be easy to while away a whole evening in. With a decent selection of craft beers and local wines as well as a wide variety of spirits (Macallan anyone?) the bar demands to be your first stop.

For those of you planning to watch a movie on a Summer day you can enjoy drinks & apps on the walkout patio that offers full bar & menu service.

The VIP experience promises the fun of a night out with the comfort of watching a movie at home. As soon as you walk in to the theatre you notice the VIP difference.

Each of the reclining chairs has its own siding tray, the arm rests come up if you want to spread out or cuddle up to your date and there’s lots off leg room and space between rows so you don’t have to worry about that person kicking your chair or crawling over you to get to the bathroom. Features are presented in Dolby Digital Atmos so that action pumping sound or building romantic overture surrounds you.

The in seat service selection includes favorites from the classic menu like the chicken tenders, jalapeno poppers and poutine as well as some new additions like bruschetta, flatbread and a charcuterie board and cheese plate from Cheese Boutique. Not to mention a variety of signature cocktails that will leave you shaken not stirred!

And what would VIP be without the star treatment? The staff are standout –from the time you make your seat selection to the rep who rips your ticket Cineplex is raising the bar in in house service.

It really seems designed to bring back the days of planning a night out at the movies by making it a singular and all inclusive experience. It invites you and your friends to make Cineplex your destination for the evening and after seeing a movie in VIP you wont want to go back the norm!
