The Following Behind the Moustache

The-Following-Behind-the-Moustache-Pic

Nine years ago audiences learned what it meant to be classy, as they followed Ron Burgundy and his news team in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Through all of their antics and shenanigans the Channel 4 news team created a cult following. Not too shabby.

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are the dynamic duo behind this raunchy throwback to old school network news in a time where the local news meant everything. Now, finally, nine years later, the legend continues.

With its huge success and fanatical following it was only natural companies would want to capitalize on Anchorman’s success and thus two classy and glorious products were born! Ben and Jerry’s have released Scotchy Scotch Scotch ice cream, with Ron Burgundy himself on the container. This limited edition pint is truly a remarkable product that any fan with a sweet tooth will love. If that was not enough to satisfy your thirst for Burgundy satisfaction, or indeed real scotch, then By Great Odin’s Raven Special Reserve is something true fans should keep their eyes open for later this month.

For those who are not familiar with Burgundy’s ace San Diego-based news team, prepare for an emergency broadcast. Simply put Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is great. With the talents of Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner the laughs are epic and the payoffs can be considered legendary!

Anchorman created a true phenomenon in its ability to craft a movie with such devoted fans who are willing to do anything show their undying dedication to become the man they all look up to, and bask in the glory of his perfect physique and hair.

When Anchorman was released in 2004 it went to lengths that no comedy had gone to before, which is why its payoff was so immense. The movie threw a stick of dynamite at the stereotypes of the 1970s and mined comedy gold from the era. The Anchorman team made their façade of what life was like in the 70s rich and plentiful and the laughter department.

The only thing Anchorman has left to capitalize on is a novelty gift of Sex Panther. You know which one I’m talking about: the cologne Brian Fantana tried using until its repellent odour drove everyone out of the office. A must-have that any Anchorman fan would be proud to own if never use.

Anchorman has become a franchise that will never be forgotten and will be embraced for generations to come. To call Anchorman a guilty pleasure would be insulting because it is not a movie to feel any guilt over. It is a work of comedic gold, providing non-stop laughter with an endlessly quotable script. At the end of the day who hasn’t felt like they’re trapped in a glass case of emotion? With Anchorman: The Legend Continues opening in classy theatres this Wednesday, the franchise is sure to make good on its promise continue to deliver great laughs and box office success.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be released this Wednesday December 18th, 2013.
