Have you seen Don McKellar?

Get ready for the premiere of the 'Breaking Dawn—Part 2' trailer!

The hottest thing in town is expected to be this weekend’s release (finally!) of ‘The Hunger Games’, the big-screen adaptation of the novel about teens forced to fight to the death, gladiator-style, in a post-apocalyptic North America. And while it’s probably hard to drag your attention away from all things ‘Hunger’-related at the moment, that’s not the only hot debut of the weekend: the full-length movie trailer for ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2’ is set to premiere ahead of ‘The Hunger Games’ in theatres everywhere.

It’s a genius piece of marketing: Lionsgate, home of ‘The Hunger Games’, just acquired ‘Twilight’ studio Summit Entertainment back in January. Summit went from under-the-radar to enormous with the ‘Twilight’ franchise—and Lionsgate is hoping to repeat their success with ‘The Hunger Games’, which is already being compared to both ‘Twilight’ and ‘Harry Potter’ as the next hot teen franchise. Coupling the trailer for the last ‘Twilight’ flick with the first in an expected ‘Hunger’ trilogy is a great way to (hopefully) entice fans from one franchise to the next.

So what can fans look for in the ‘Breaking Dawn’ trailer? A 10-second teaser clip, released Tuesday, didn’t really give us much of a look at vampire Bella (Kristen Stewart), though earlier exclusive preview clips found their way online and showed off Bella’s new look: red-eyed, lean, and even paler than usual (if that’s possible). Hopefully, the full-length trailer will give fans a glimpse of what Bella can do with her new-found vampire speed and strength. Given that human Bella was always clumsy and inadequate, I’d like to see her turn the tables on some of her new family members (like Emmett!).

It’s also a given that the trailer should include something of Bella and Edward’s (Robert Pattinson) baby, Renesmee Cullen (Mackenzie Foy). It’s hard to say how much time the film will spend dwelling on Bella and Edward versus Renesmee and Jacob (Taylor Lautner), but the trailer might offer a few hints. It might also answer the big question of how Jacob will handle Bella’s change, though that’s briefly hinted at in the teaser clip.

Finally—spoiler alert!–there’s the epic showdown with the Volturi. (You didn’t think they were gone, did you?) Fans of the books know that the Volturi have a part yet to play in the story, but if you’re not familiar with the novels, suffice it to say that earlier leaked movie clips promise the return of our favorite vampire royalty. Hopefully we’ll catch a glimpse of them in the trailer, too.

One more thing that would be wonderful in the trailer: a preview of the ‘Breaking Dawn’ soundtrack. The ‘Twilight’ franchise has become famous for making hits out of indie rock tunes in keeping with the story’s moody atmosphere, and the fifth movie should do no less. If the trailer contains a snippet of a new song from the soundtrack, you can bet that it will be stuck in your head for the rest of the summer.
