The following is written in the style of the book, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. If you haven’t read it, please do so immediately. The film adaptation hits theatres everywhere this Friday.
I just saw a movie called The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It’s based on the book of the same name. It’s my favorite book because it’s the last one I read. Similarly, this is now my favorite movie. I know people usually say that a movie can never be as good as the book, but that wasn’t true here. The book was amazing. A chronicle of a character named Charlie and his journey through his first year of high school. But it was also much more than that. It was funny, it was serious, it was pure. The same can be said about the movie, but in a whole different way. It’s written and directed by Stephen Chbosky, the author of the book. The characters are all cast perfectly, and the story is all still there. The main character, Logan Lerman, did an amazing job and gave a chilling performance. That’s the only way I can think to explain it right now. Same for Ezra Miller and Emma Watson. The only way to describe the movie is that it makes me feel feelings. That’s the best I can come up with. I want to watch it over and over again, but I’ll have to wait for the Blu-ray. I want to tell everyone to see it, including you. I know we’ve never met but I know you’ll love it. There’s just something about it that’s beyond words. It’s almost like describing it would be ruining it. I don’t want to ruin it. I want you to watch it and like it just as much as me. I want you to see the movie and feel the way I felt. Watch it and feel… infinite.
